I am a tutor who has a pupil sitting the CSSE exam on Saturday.
In the English paper, they quite often ask the pupil to write synonyms for words in the passage.
While the actual familiarisation paper for 2020 (question 5) says to write "one or two words" with the same meaning as the word used in the text, the mark scheme says that to earn the mark the synonym "can only be of one word in length.
Does anyone know if there was a misprint on the mark scheme or the paper?
Or what advice I should give my student?
Thank you.
