Incredibly lucky you are to have a DD using mobile phone for homework, online learning and reading E books during break time and not playing games or doing tiktok or other social media.BeK, just found your thoughts on mobile phone use at DRHS interesting. DD is in yr10 and I love the fact that they're not banned. To my mind it's training the girls to focus on work when necessary even though the potential distraction of a smart phone is there. I love the fact that she can check satchel during break or lunch to get a head start in homework if she wants to, I love the fact that she can use it during lessons for online learning etc, and that she can use an e-book for DEAR.
I, and most other people I know, have two phones with me all day. DD can already deal with that distraction much better than a lot of adults. That said, she has noted that there's those in her class that haven't yet learned how to separate their time, so it obviously doesn't work for everyone.
Anyway, I don't want to sidetrack the main conversation, just found it an interesting difference of perspective.
I did not know such a world exists!
