my son has now been medicated - it is helping - not perfect but certainly helping with a little more focus and impulse control. Unfortunately he refused to be tested fro autism - it is likely he does have this too as suggested - as a 15 year old boy he was OK with being diagnosed with ADHD but not Autism and we respected this - he had refused to engage full stop for over a year so we took what we could.
He is accepting some of the help he is being offered by School - but still refusing a TA support in class as he doesn't like the way it makes him feel. School have suggested we apply for an EHCP as they will struggle to demonstrate the 13.5 hours needed - my son just wants to feel normal and and not a SEN child and this is the part where we are all struggling.
