@ReformedMum
I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a bad experience with this tutor - truly awful way to run a business and treat people.
While there may be tutors who post on the forum from time to time, it is against the rules (see below) to advertise their services either on the forum or by PM and moderators keep a close eye on any such activities and remove them as quickly as possible from the forum (our dustbin is full of such posts)
I am sorry to hear that you were recommended this tutor by another parent - guess this must have been by PM - we do post to the effect that people should be wary of recommendations received by PM from people they don't know in real life - you never know, it might have been a tutor themselves - we remove posts a great many posts where people are asking for PM advice re tutors for the same reasons

If anyone is sent an unsolicited recommendation for a tutor then please report the PM :The following would not be considered acceptable:....Forum Rule 8. Requests for tutor recommendations (because it invites advertising from unscrupulous tutors, and we cannot guarantee how genuine or reliable any responses will be).
Note: Any unsolicited recommendations reported as having been sent by private message will be treated as spam, and action will be taken against the member concerned.
faq 2. How do I report or complain about a post or PM?
Rather than provoking any unpleasantness on the forum, or sending a PM to the member concerned, you should send an 'alert' to moderators by clicking on the red exclamation mark that appears with every post and PM. Image
Note that the default complaint is "Offensive remarks"! This can be changed via the drop down list.
You may not receive any acknowledgement, but moderators will read the report, and consider carefully whether any action is required. They may decide, for example, to edit a post, to remove the entire post if appropriate, or simply to keep a watchful eye on the thread.
