St Ambrose is a lovely school and my DS has been very happy and thrived there, as have his friends.
Lots of boys travel quite some distance so that's not unusual at all.
The school are aware of this so lots of clubs and activities are at lunchtime not after school.
I worried about travel time before DS started but he quickly got used to it, found it wasn't unusual at this school and it hasn't really been an issue.
Don't know anything about Urmston sorry but wouldn't hesitate to recommend St Ambrose.
