Is the creative writing just a tickbox pass or fail? Or is it actually includes in final mark for CCHS?

The English and Mathematics elements are marked by computer and age-standardised. All students with an eligible score from those two elements will have their creative writing element assessed.
In order to be eligible for admission to the school, candidates must achieve an ‘eligible score’ which includes minimum standards in each element of the test. This is not a pre-defined pass mark, but reflects a candidate’s position in the rank order of standardised scores in the Mathematics and English elements, once a minimum standard for Creative Writing has been achieved.
So the numbers are whittled down:
Exam candidates -> remove exam candidates not ranked highly enough on the standardised E&M score to have their CW marked -> remove candidates who did well enough on E&M to have CW marked, who don't meet standard for CW, remaining ranked by E&M standardised score.
I think. Although I can see that because both 'meeting minimum standards in each element of the test' must be achieved and the E&M are ranked, it might be taken that ranking of CW is also involved somehow, but my reading is that it isn't (especially as last year, people were told that their DD's CW was or wasn't 'of the standard'.
