It is roughly the same every year and works out at around 76%.
They always have more on the lowest score in the top 325 than they have spaces for and so then it is a countdown in terms of distance from the school so those further from the school miss out.
It is possible that total number of applicants (which is usually around a thousand) will increase this year, firstly because of the proposed tax on private schools and secondly because DAO has had an Ofsted inspection since last year and was one of only two of the four local North London state selective schools to achieve OUTSTANDING. QE and DAO did it but HBS and Latymer missed out.
Even if the numbers applying does not increase it may be that the numbers accepting the place will.
Places offered on allocation day this year did not make it through 100 for only the second time in 20 years. The other time was COVID year.
