Hi

I was wondering if somebody could please shed some light on applying for a test place as a pupil premium candidate. I am so stressed about this! Basically my universal credit claim is in the process of being assessed. I do qualify for it and will get pupil premium but I don’t think it’ll be before the test registration deadline (28 June). I am eligible for pupil premium definitely but I can’t tick the box at the moment on the application form as I haven’t had a decision from UC so can’t notify the school! Does anyone know if my child would still qualify for a pupil premium place - or is the deadline strict - ie the child has to be in receipt of FSM BEFORE the test registration date or will they still consider the child’s pupil premium status as long as it’s before they sit the test in September?
Unfortunately it does look like they are very strict about the registration date being the cut off - I had wondered if they would make it the CAF date but the info appears to clarify that they won't consider any later than the registration date.
For 2025 entry, your child must have been registered for and in receipt of Free School Meals at any point before the entrance test. You must upload the relevant form when registering for the entrance test. Failure to provide the form will result in your child not being considered for one of the Pupil Premium places.

If you are unsure whether your child receives or has ever received Free School Meals, speak to their primary school.

Applicants who start to receive Free School Meals after the entrance test will not be considered for one of the Pupil Premium places.
